Why Change a Valve?

Tools & Parts
- New valve (Rain Bird DV, Hunter PGV, or Orbit)
- PVC primer & cement
- PVC hacksaw
- Screwdrivers, wrench, bucket
- Wire strippers & waterproof nuts
Remove Old Valve
Shut off water, run a zone to relieve pressure. Remove solenoid, bonnet, diaphragm, spring. 5in. See installation guide for pipe sizing tips.
Install New Valve
Dry-fit with repair couplings. Prime, cement, push, hold 15s. Hand-tighten following flow arrows.
Wire Solenoid
Strip 1/2in, twist, cap with waterproof nuts. Wrap with tape. See the sprinkler system guide for controller wiring.
