Plan the system around your water supply
Before choosing heads, tubing, or a controller, measure your available pressure and flow. Those two numbers determine how many sprinklers or drip emitters can run in a zone. A layout that looks balanced on paper can still leave dry spots if the zone demand is higher than the supply can deliver.
For a new lawn zone, begin with head spacing and precipitation rate. For garden beds, begin with plant spacing, row length, and whether drip tubing or individual emitters make more sense. Fix the symptom you can see
A sprinkler problem is easier to solve when you describe it precisely. A zone that never starts is different from a zone with one weak head.
